Classroom News!
- Our November Family Study continues! This week we read a story called, "We Are Alike, We Are Different." After the story the children got into pairs and interviewed each other to find out about things that were the same and different about their partner. The intent was for the children to get to know each other on a deeper level.
- The family tree on our bulletin board is a source of great interest. We have had several discussions about all the different kinds of families there are. You may have noticed the poster at the entrance to our classroom. The children have requested a closer look at the poster and we have brought it into the room several times as families are a of tremendous interest to 5 and 6 year olds.
- This was a big week vis-a-vis writing. We kicked off Writer's Workshop! If only you could have seen the excitement in the classroom as children were each given their own folder in which to keep their writing. They also received a special sheet of blank paper on which they were invited to "write" their ideas, thoughts and dreams.

Poem of the week
Piggy-Back
My daddy rides me piggy-back
My mama rides me too.
But grandma says her poor old back
Has had enough to do.
