FAE Parent Update
What Parents Need to Know Vol 1.5 Ed. 3
Continued Support
Good evening, Panther Families!
We have much to be grateful for as we welcome a new 🍂 season! We have been in school for 37 days with only 5 virtual. Today marks the end of a successful Book Fair! Proceeds from our school’s book fair will go directly to our media center program to purchase new books. Thanks to Mrs. Gannon, our Teacher of the Year, for her leadership!
Another reason we are grateful is for our 1st Virtual Open House! Thank you for taking time to accept phone conferences and attend WedEx meetings with your child’s teacher. It is because of you that we were able to continue a traditional opportunity but with a technology twist. We are doing our best to keep you informed about your child’s academic and social journey at school.
Speaking of technology since our last publication, social media has negatively impacted some decisions made by students. Parents please make sure that you are familiar with your child’s activities on:
-TikTok
-Snapchat
It takes us all monitoring for students’ safety. You need to know what your child is doing behind the screen. We will be in contact if undesired activities cross over into our daily expectations.
P.S. Our school’s future success is in your hands. Your positivity and support is always appreciated.
In Service,
Dr. Ashley Anderson-Murray

⭐️⭐️⭐️Tech It Home Fee $20⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you have not already taken care of your child’s Chromebook insurance fee, please do so ASAP.

Safety Tidbits from our Assistant Principal
Mr. Fludd, Assistant Principal
Parents you are doing a DYNAMIC job getting our Panthers to school on time! Remember instruction begins at 7:50 am and after 8:00 am you will need to enter the front office to sign your child in as tardy. We want to make the most of the time we have with students. Continue to leave home a few minutes earlier to avoid traffic pattern delays. We are doing great because of you!

Math Tips from our Instructional Coach, Ms. Brandt!
K4 - 2nd GradersOur Math focus this year at FAE is Number Sense. Here are some tips to help your child with this by building mathematical connections with items around your home. 1. Count everything! Count toys, kitchen utensils, and items of clothing as they come out of the dryer. Help your child count by pointing to and moving the objects as you say each number out loud. Count forwards and backwards from different starting places. Use household items to practice adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. 2. Discover the many ways in which numbers are used inside and outside your home. Take your child on a "number hunt" in your home or neighborhood. | More for K4 - 2nd GradersPoint out how numbers are used on the television set, the microwave, and the telephone. Spot numbers in books and newspapers. Look for numbers on signs in your neighborhood. Encourage your child to tell you whenever he or she discovers a new way in which numbers are used. 3. Ask your child to help you solve everyday number problems. "We need six tomatoes to make our sauce for dinner, and we have only two. How many more do we need to buy?" "You have two pillows in your room and your sister has two pillows in her room. How many pillowcases do I need to wash?" "Two guests are coming to eat dinner with us. How many plates will we need?" Let your child know that YOU think math is fun and exciting! | 3rd - 5th GradeWhen your child is trying to solve a problem, ask what he or she is thinking. If your child seems puzzled, ask him or her to tell you what doesn't make sense. (Talking about their ideas and how they reach solutions helps children learn to reason mathematically.) * Suggest that your child act out a problem to solve it. Have your child show how he or she reached a conclusion by drawing pictures and moving objects as well as by using words *Treat errors as opportunities to help your child learn something new. Let your child know that YOU think math is fun and exciting! |
