Peripherals
What are Peripherals
Able to be attached to and used with a computer, though not an integral part of it. e.g. mouse, keyboard, monitor, printer and scanner
Examples of Input Device
Web cam
This inputs by recording a video and sending it into the computer.
Micro-phone
This inputs by letting you sing into it and whilst plugged in sends it to the speaker which outputs the sound.
Joystick
Pressing buttons on this device is the input and then it transmits it to the TV which is the output.
Scanner
I scans then Object and then sends it through to the machine
Touch pad
It senses the touch and then transmits it to the computer
Digital Camera
It digital takes a picture when you press the button and then appears on the screen
Keyboard
when you press the letter down on the keyboard it then sends it through to the laptop or computer
Touchscreen
when you touch the screen it sends it through the device so that the action can be completed on screen
TV remote
When you press the button down it sends a signal through the remote to the TV sensor so that the TV knows what to do
Bar Code Reader
It reads the bar code on a machine and sends it to the computer
OMR Reader
It reads the pencil or pen marks that should be in a certain place for example when you do an exam and then checks to make sure it is correct
OCR reader
It scans the passport and then sends it through to the machine to see if everything is ok
Magnetic Stip
The little magnetic strip holds all the information and then inputs it onto the computer
Out Put Devices
Robotic Arms
designed for the navy loads when making cars and other machinery, they move how a remote control tells them
Monitor
It comes up on screen after being told what to do
Printer (laser)
the computer/laptop sends a signal to the printer telling it what to print, the printer is then the output because it prints off what it is told
Speakers
after speaking though a microphone (input) the sound is then transmitted either through a wire or wirelessly and comes out through the speaker
Digital projector
The picture is transmitted through a devise e.g. a laptop through a wire and then is projected through the digital projector.
plotters
It marks out points on a chart after being told what to do by a computer
