Weekly Update
I've been able to review some of our benchmark data this week, and I am so excited to see where our students are at to start this year. It is similar to what data looked like in the fall of 2019. This is a testament to the resiliency of our students and to the work our teachers and staff have done during the pandemic to continue to ensure that students learn at high levels.
I have mentioned previously that Elk Ridge is growing. We are adding an additional part-time Specialist for Art and an additional section of 1st grade. Melissa Dickerson has been hired as our part-time Art specialist. She has been part-time at Foothills and the Early Learning Center over the past couple of years, and we are excited to have her join Elk Ridge! She will be working with our Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade students. Our Art classes will begin on Monday, September 27th. Our new section of 1st grade will begin on Wednesday, September 19th. Parents of students that will be moving classrooms will be notified later this evening.
