Happy Friday
Thank you to everyone who came out to support BGS at Chipotle this past Tuesday night. We raised $150!
Today is the last day to sign up to be a homeroom parent.
Please see the notice below from the district regarding BRHS going virtual for the next two weeks.
Don't forget to complete the Covid questionnaire in PowerSchool each morning that your child attends school.
Membership is still open! Join the PTO to help us create lasting memories for our Bears. Fees to join are $10 for families and teachers, and $5 for BGS Aides. Membership grants you free electronic access to our Student Directory.
If you want your information to be visible in the directory make sure to choose the "OPT IN" option when you enter your data.
Have a great week!
Briana George, PTO President
Thank you to our Teachers and Staff
Each year the PTO welcomes back our teachers and staff with a luncheon. This year in lieu of that we are giving all teachers and staff a little "Pick Me Up" Bag of goodies.
We've included a gift card to either Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks or Tim Horton.
Bridgewater's own Mask Squad donated 70 ear savers, so everyone teacher and staff member got one.
Thank you Mask Squad!!!!
Finally, My Discount Card donated local discount cards that are good through the end of next year for all teachers and staff. Thank you!
Class Parents needed!
****LAST DAY TO SIGN UP****
Once again it is time to consider volunteering as a Homeroom Parent! Participating as a Homeroom Parent in your child’s class is a wonderful opportunity to get involved directly in activities at BGS.
Each class may have up to two Homeroom Parents. If more than two parents volunteer for a single class, a drawing will be held to randomly select the two Homeroom Parents. If you have more than one child in the school, you may submit your name for each class. However, you will only be allowed to be Homeroom Parent for one of the classrooms.
Homeroom Parent responsibilities are a little different this year but include:
* attending PTO meetings and sharing important information with the teacher and other parents (you may take turns attending the PTO meetings, but at least one Homeroom Parent from each classroom should attend each meeting or find an alternate to attend from the class)
* collecting class fund monies
* communicating with the teacher
* sharing information with your class about class activities and any additional messages from the PTO
If you are interested, please complete the google form below by October 23, 2020.

From The District.....
Dear Parents/Guardians and Staff:
This letter is to inform you that one individual has tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID 19) at Bridgewater-Raritan High School on October 22, 2020. This positive test is in addition to the two individuals who tested positive earlier this week at Bridgewater-Raritan High School. It is important to note the district is in direct contact with the local health department officials on every incident related to COVID-19 and is coordinating closely with public health officials and following CDC, state, and local health department guidance in order to assure the health and safety of our community.
After working with the local health department to analyze the facts and circumstances of these cases and to complete contact tracing, we have decided to move all students at Bridgewater-Raritan High School to all remote instruction for 14 days effective Friday, October 23, 2020.
In addition, all athletic and extracurricular activities are canceled for the same duration.
All other district schools will remain open as normal on Friday, October 23, 2020.
We understand the level of concern regarding COVID-19. We encourage parents, students, and staff to continue following the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) promoted safeguards, such as:
• Staying home when you are sick;
• Washing hands often with soap for at least 20 seconds;
• Covering coughs and sneezes and properly disposing of tissues;
• Limiting close contact with people who are sick and not sharing food, drinks and utensils;
• Practicing social distancing (staying at least 6 feet apart);
• Wearing a face covering while in school; and
• Continuing to monitor your health for symptoms.
As always, we appreciate our community’s support and cooperation. You can assist us by remaining vigilant, but sensible, in your approach to dealing with this health concern. We ask that parents rely on the school officials for accurate information about COVID-19. Should you have any questions about this situation, please feel free to contact your child’s building principal. Below are some resources that may be helpful.
