Locations Around The Nile River
All About The Nile
The Aswan High Dam was build in between 1960 and 1970. It is near the East Africa Drainage Basin. It was built to control flooding, hydroelectricity, irrigation water. However there is a catch this Dam has also lowered the fish population in the Nile so it isn't all good. That is what I learned about the Aswan High Dam.
Lake Tana is the source to the Blur Nile which is one of many branches that come off the Nile. It was discovered around 1615 when Spanish priest Pedro Paez discovered it. The Lake is fed by heavy summer rains. Also the landscape there is pretty cool they have lots of trees and animal species that surround the lake. That is what I learned about Lake Tana.
Cairo is the capitol of Egypt and it depends on the Nile. First off it gets most of its water from the Nile. The river drew lots of people there resulting in a modern city . However population growth and pollution are making it harder for the Nile to do these things. That is what I learned about Cairo.
Lake Victoria is a lake surrounded by lush landscape. A lot of people like to canoe and kayak there. Also lots of different animals live there which is pretty cool. Also Lake Victoria has extremely clear water so you could look into it and see the bottom from almost anywhere on the lake. It also rains a lot there to so if you ever went there you would have to plan around it.
That is what I learned on this project.
