May’s Skill of the Month:

Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible in the classroom.

This week we are focusing on being Safe, Respectful and Responsible in the classroom. We are asking students to be responsible for their actions and show respect.

Teachers and staff will be giving out Leo Bucks to students who show that they are being respectful and responsible with their actions.

Grammar by Grace

This week in grammar we learned about all of unit 5. The week I chose was week 5 where we learned about conjunctions. Conjunctions are words that connect two simple sentences into a compound sentence. To remember the conjunctions, you can say FANBOYS.

Writing by Ryan

This week in writing we wrote a persuasive piece about if it's a good idea to get a classroom pet. First, we made a rough draft. Next, we added persuasive words. After that, we added adverbs. Last we made a final copy. P.S. this week was a review week.

Math by Lily

This week in math we are learning about data. Data is how much of how many things. There is an x-axis and y-axis. X goes across and y to the sky.

Social Studies by Sydney

This week In Social Studies we learned about regions. For regions we are skyping with a different classroom. We don't know what state they are from so first we figure out the region they are from and then the state. We are split into jobs such as Greeters, Questioners, Inquirers, mappers, Question Keepers, Runners, Backchannelers, Videographers, Photographers, Geographers, Closer and Blogger. All the groups work together to find the state.

This week in Literacy we learned about review week in literacy we are reviewing these books,Suki's kimono,I love Saturday Y Domingos,Good bye 382 Shin Dang Dong,Jalapeno Bagels,and Me and Uncle Romie.These are the books that we are reviewing.
