Math News:
On Thursday, we will start Unit 4 which is taking us back to Multiplication/Division. We will review Multiplication on Wednesday and then bridge to learning the US Standard Algorithm for Multiplication on Friday. We will be making lots of connections between the multiplication strategies that we used in Unit 1 with the Standard Algorithm.

Key Ideas:
Physical Change - changes in size, shape, state, or appearance of matter (ex: tearing paper into smaller pieces, making a new shape out of playdough, melting ice)
Chemical Change - presence of a new substance or or substances that are entirely different from the starting substance, often heat or bubbles forming is involved (ex: baking a cake, rusty nail, combining baking soda and vinegar).
