LES TIGER TALK
Loveland Elementary School eNewsletter January 6, 2023
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Happy New Year! We are really looking forward to a fabulous second semester here at LES! Our new specials schedule has started, so if your student had art last semester they will have music this semester (and vice-versa). We have started a new compassion project for January and February which will support the Ronald McDonald House. Please start saving all of your pop can pull tabs!
The weather has been a bit crazy -- one day we need winter coats, and the next day we hardly need coats at all! To that end, we have a growing mountain of coats in our lost and found. If your child is missing a coat, please have them check the lost and found. You are also welcome to stop by and look through our collection!
Have a great weekend!

From our Superintendent:
We are in the time of year when winter weather could force us to delay or cancel the start of school, so I want to remind our families how they will receive important information from Loveland City Schools during a closure or emergency.
We will send a call, text, and email in the event of a closure or emergency. The call will come from our Board of Education office at 513-683-5600. Please save this number in your contact list. If you miss this call, you’ll find the information in your voicemail or email. If your phone number or email address has changed, please go into Final Forms and update your contact information.
We will also share information about weather closures or delays with local television stations, and you can find it online in the following locations:

January and February Compassion Project!
100th Day of School Canned Food Drive
LES and LPS are partnering up to try and fill the shelves at the L.I.F.E. Pantry. The L.I.F.E. Pantry helps families in need right here in Loveland. Their shelves are especially low after the holidays. We'd like to challenge each classroom to bring in 100 food items by the 100th day of school. If we reach our goal of each classroom bringing in 100 "cans," we will collect 5,100 food items!! This will fall around the beginning of February. We will take ANY UNEXPIRED canned goods, or any other non-perishables like rice, pasta, condiments, and boxed staples (like Hamburger Helper or macaroni and cheese). Please contact Patsy Schlesselman at schlespa@lovelandschools.org if you have any questions or concerns. Here is the LIFE website if you would like more information about their mission. https://lifefoodpantry.org/mission/
Thanks in advance for making this food drive a success!!
