Hybrid/Remote Learning Details
Important information
Dear Parents,
As we prepare for our Hybrid opening, I want to reiterate some important points.
I videoed a brief summary of what to expect at WTE( 6 minutes). WTE Hybrid and Remote Learning.
In addition, I highlighted some points in this newsletter.
- On Monday, October 19th we begin our hybrid learning model. Students in the A Cohort (students whose last names begin with A - K and any family that I have contacted to change cohorts)will attend school in person on Monday and Tuesday, October 19th and 20th. On Wednesday, October 21st, all students - both Cohort A and Cohort B- will attend virtually. On Thursday and Friday, October 23rd and 24th Cohort B (students whose last names begin with L - Z and any family that I have contacted to change cohorts) will attend in person.
- School day is 9:10 - 3:10
- Drop off between 8:35-9:05 ( see aerial view below)
- Pick-up begins at 3:10 (see aerial view below)
- Parents must complete a health check screening with their child each morning. Please go to our symptom checklist
- Please click here to review a quick reference of our safety protocols.
- On younger children, placing a name tag with the teacher's name will be helpful.
The District website also offers lots of information. Links for Important Hybrid Information
Classroom teachers will be sharing with parents specific schedules for their classrooms and needed supplies that students will need to bring with them when they come to school.
If you have additional questions, please reach out to me. We are looking forward to next week!
And may I add a huge thank you! We appreciate your support, kindness and your patience as we navigate through these uncertain times. One thing I can know that is certain is that we all care about your children! WTE teachers and staff are working tirelessly to create a safe and productive learning environment for all of our students. Thank you for being our partners!
DROP OFF and PICK UP PROCEDURES
- Drop -off will occur each day between 8:35 and 9:05.
- Survey results indicate that our drop-off and pick-up numbers are similar to last year, so at this time we do not feel we need families to select specific times.
- Students will be welcomed by staff members who will assist them in getting to their classrooms.
- Drop-off and Pick-up area is the same - the back door of the gym. (see attached aerial view)
- Please have children ready to exit the car at the drop off area for an efficient and safe drop-off.
- Pick-up begins at 3:10.
- Families who pick up their children will receive a tag to hang on their mirror for future pick-ups. Please write the child's last name on the tag.
Breakfast and Lunch during Hybrid
ACP
Parents will use the cafeteria doors to drop-off and pick-up their children. The ACP staff will post their phone number on the outside of the cafeteria door so parents can alert them. Please note, at 8:35 when school drop off begins, ALL students will be dropped off at the gym doors. We will guide the students to either the ACP room or to their classrooms.

MTSS Assistance
In an effort to provide additional support for students and parents during remote learning, we’ve created a “Request for Academic Assistance” form for each of the WCASD schools. Students, parents and faculty may complete a form on behalf of a student who is struggling with attendance, work completion or social/emotional learning. This form will be reviewed by a member of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports Team (MTSS) and resources will be provided.
Please know that you also may call our guidance counselor, Peggy Blaker with any concerns. She will gladly assist you. mblaker@wcasd.net; 484-266-1802.
