American Education Week and Parental Involvement Day
And while we're at it, we want to thank the parents, guardians, grandparents and important adults in your students' lives. Your involvement in their education makes all of the difference! The research shows how hugely important your involvement is to the success of your child.
If you are a student reading this, know that we do this all for YOU! Please take some time this week to thank your teachers and families for everything they do for you. We're sure they will appreciate your thanks!

One in Four People Know Someone Transgender
Transgender Awareness Week
This week marks both Transgender Awareness Week and Transgender Day of Remembrance. The Transgender Day of Remembrance is held every year on November 20th to memorialize the transgender people who have lost their lives as a result of anti-transgender violence, the United Nations celebrates November 16th as the International Day for Tolerance, so that we can all become more open-minded to our neighbors and accepting of people who might be different from us.
At JTMS, we welcome and accept ALL people, regardless of gender, gender identity, sexuality, or transgender status. For more resources on this topic, please reach out to your counselors. You can also find help on many topics regarding transgender issues at https://www.glsen.org/ and https://www.thetrevorproject.org/ .
