Newbery Award Winner Sends Message to EES

A well-known, Newbery Award winning author recently sent a Twitter message to students at EES. Katherine Applegate sent a greeting to 4th grade students who were reading her award winning book, The One and Only Ivan. English Language Arts Teacher, Kristi Jackson, led her students through the reading and study of the book. Mr. Wiggins posted about the students on Twitter and it resulted in a reply from the author herself. Needless to say, everyone was excited.

Start and Finish Strong

These EES students were caught hard at work in the first minutes of the school day. It is common practice on all of our campuses to start strong and finish strong. Every minute matters!
