Welcome Gabriel Stotz, Assistant Principal, Lewis & Clark Middle School
The Yakima School District is proud to welcome Gabriel "Gabe" Stotz as Assistant Principal at Lewis and Clark Middle School.
Gabe was born and raised in Yakima, Washington. He attended Roosevelt Elementary, Franklin Middle School, and graduated from Davis High School in 2002. Following graduation, Gabe pursued a collegiate baseball scholarship at Yakima Valley Community College and Northwest Nazarene University. He eventually transferred to Central Washington University and earned his BS in Biology in 2007.
Prior to his time in education, Gabe worked in many STEM fields such as civil engineering, land surveying, agriculture, and as a fisheries biologist with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Following his time in industry, he obtained a STEM teaching certificate and began teaching Technology Foundations at Lewis and Clark Middle School during the 2013-14 school year. He spent the past 7 years at Eisenhower High School teaching applied science courses such as Principles of Technology, Materials Science, and Agriculture. He most recently worked as the Career and College Readiness Specialist helping students with their financial aid applications, scholarships, and their High School and Beyond Plan. Gabe completed his CTE Director’s Internship through OSPI during the 2019-20 school year, and completed his MS in Educational Leadership and Principal’s Internship through Central Washington University in 2021.
Gabe believes that building positive relationships with parents, students, staff, and other educational stakeholders is critical in closing the achievement gap. He will utilize his outgoing, passionate, and intuitive personality to be a servant leader that creates a nurturing environment where all students feel like they are appreciated, respected, and have the opportunity to grow as young adults.
In his spare time, Gabe enjoys golfing, fishing, hunting, hiking, barbecuing, attending athletic events, completing puzzles, traveling with his wife, and spending time with his family and friends.
