Happy Earth Day!
Happy Birthday Dear Earth!
Dear Parents,
We had a lovely Earth week, and we were amazing earth keepers! Every Day should be Earth Day! We started the week by singing a recycling song during our flag ceremony. On Wednesday, we had a blast playing with the recycling race game; what an amazing and engaging experience to spend a day like this (totally pricelessJ).
On Thursday, we visited the other pk4 classrooms to learn more about materials such as: plastic, tetra pack, cardboard and paper. To wrap up our fantastic week, on Friday the children arrived enthusiastically dressed up with recycled materials / green colors.
Thank you mommies and daddies for helping us increase your child’s awareness about our planet. This is a life time experience that will remain in their hearts forever. Next week, we will finish our REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE study unit and Guess what…!! We will start our last study unit called GETTING READY FOR KINDERGARTEN.
SAVING OUR NATURAL RESOURCES
From now on we will…
· turn the lights off when we were not in our classroom.
· take our water bottles to the playground, and that way save paper cups.
· No matter how little they are, they truly are making a BIG difference!!!
DID YOU KNOW…
It takes 1 million year for a glass bottle to decompose, and 450 years for a plastic bottle to decompose! So before you put it in the trash can, ask yourself, “Is it really garbage?”
Have a great weekend!
