Our Story

Everybody is Somebody at AE. How do we know? What does it feel like?

I am inspired every day, from the time I walk in the front doors until the time I walk out those same doors at the end of the day. Dozens of moments throughout every day keep me inspired because I take the time to stop, listen, and just be present.

I believe in each of you. You are changing lives here, every day. You matter.

Breathe and enjoy the small moments.

Holiday Lights

The experience of hanging the holiday lights after school today was yet another example of what makes Andersonville a special place. Pictures can not do justice to what it felt like in my heart to know how much all of you care about what it feels like to be a part of our AE family.

It was fun, inspiring, and emotional to take part in this tradition.

Thanks to all for helping. Thanks to all for believing.

Take a look at the fun...

Thanksgiving Celebrations

What an exciting time for our staff and students! There is so much 'giving-of-thanks' throughout the building. Some (certainly not all) highlights, so far, include:

  • Feast with Wendy and students,
  • Making (and eating) corn muffins with Kindergarteners,
  • Making (and taking home) bread with first graders,
  • Crafts, activities, and thank you's being shared.

Take a look....

Lunch Bunches

I have started lunch bunch groups (I call them lunch & laugh on the invites). I've met with third through fifth grade groups and will be having the first meeting with first and second graders next week.

I've invited new students and have asked each of them to bring a friend.

I share our purpose (of course) for coming together and we spend an hour connecting, growing, eating, and laughing.

Our purpose for coming together as a lunch bunch is to:

  • connect with each other, and
  • connect with the school and provide feedback/suggestions.

Here are the three groups that have met so far...

Feedback Reminder

If you have not done so already, please complete this brief survey so that I can best plan our time together. If you were not at the last staff meeting and did not hear the explanation/purpose of this, please see me and I will share more info with you.

School Meeting Sign Up

Please click here for the school meeting sign up sheet. Sign up your class, grade level, or club to share at or lead one of our school meetings. You can share your ASL projects, put on a play, have kids lead a motivational/inspirational message, etc. The sky is the limit, just please have a purpose. I would love if every child and staff member had an opportunity to be a part of these special gatherings.

December 9th Delayed Start

The purpose of next week's delayed start will include two parts:

  • Continue our book study, and
  • Follow up on Synergy/SOAR professional learning (time to input data).

More to come on this next week.

I have transferred the December calendar into a google spreadsheet.
