Interview with Deputy Staley

What encouraged you to be an officer?
"I wanted to be part of the solution--not part of the problem."
How long have you been an officer?
"May 14th marks one year."
As a student, were you in sports? If so what sport?
"I played football and basketball, and I ran track."
What do you like about working at Pryor?
"I like working with the kids."
What was your favorite subject in school?
"Home economics. I really like to cook."
What is the best advice you can give to the students at Pryor?
"You are who you are. It is important that your behavior reflects your values as a person."
What do you do outside of work?
"I spend time with family, or go to church."
What other jobs have you had?
"I worked at Hardee’s, Tom Thumb, UPS, and Macaroni Grill. I was a teacher for 3 years and a basketball coach."
Have you always wanted to be an officer? If not, what did you to want to be as a kid?
"As a young man, I wanted to be an NBA Basketball player, but my second choice was to be an officer."
What was your hardest class in school? How did you overcome it?English.
"I had to work hard and study."

Grew up in Detroit.
Like to ride horses.
Failed at a goat business.
Starting a chicken business soon.
Is going to get back into riding horses soon with his son.
MAP Growth Rewards!

Don’t forget to work hard on your MAP testing, because there are many great rewards for growth. The students with the most growth and the highest score will be invited to a pizza and ice cream party.

The year is coming to an end and so is the deadline for community service. Below are some places you can volunteer for your ten community service hours.

How to use The Internet The Correct Way:
There are different types of social media: SnapChat, InstaGram, Etc.
SnapChat: There are many ways to use Snapchat; however, one way not to use Snapchat is posting about other people’s lives without their permission.
Instagram: There are many ways to use Instagram; however, you should never make rude comments, thoughts, and/or phrases.
Tryout Information for Cheerleading

Cheer Clinics:
Tuesday, April 23rd: 4:30 - 6:30pm
Wednesday, April 24th: 4:30 - 6:30pm
Cheer Tryouts
Thursday, April 25th @4:30 pm
Cost to be a cheerleader:
$ 25 cash or check made to Pryor Middle School by April 18th 2019
Eligibility:
Must have a current physical
Must pass all classes
Failing will require a disciplinary action to be taken
The commitment will be from middle of May to March
Practice 3 days a week
All cheerleaders must attend fundraisers
One parent must also attend
Demerits will be given if you
Tardy for practice
Late pick up ride
Wrong practice uniforms
Late pickup from a game
