Thanksgiving Holiday

Texas Wildlife Association Visited our Colts
An educator from the Texas Wildlife Association presented a lesson on "skins and skulls" to our elementary students on Halloween. Students investigated the skulls of native Texas wildlife animals such as a rabbit, a fox, and deer. The students used field guides to identify ‘mystery skulls’, all while learning about the animals' habitats, food sources, and adaptations for survival.

Family Dine Out is Tomorrow!

Dia de los Muertos
Our scholars learned duo lessons in Spanish and Art classes, as they studied the Mexican cultural festivities of Dua de los Muertos. People in Mexico celebrate the lives of their loved ones who have died, on November 1st and 2nd, by decorating their homes with ofrendas, mariposas, las velas, las cempazuchiles, las cruces, y much more!
- Kindergarten and first grade students decorated their pumpkins (calabazas).
- Second graders learned about the Monarch butterflies and their migration from Canada to Mexico, just in time for Dia de los Muertos.
- Third thru fifth grade students decorated their own version of the sugar skull, which is used to signify the sweetness of life.
- Middle school scholars displayed their own ofrendas in honor of family members who have died.
The act of praying for the deceased is a long held Catholic tradition and is one of the Corporal Works of Mercy.
Parent Bible Study Group Meets Every Tuesday
