We really appreciated seeing the strong parent turn-out for parent conferences this week. This is such an important time to celebrate student progress and talk about strengths and growth areas. Likewise, thank you to everyone who was able to attend the Raleigh Hills Auction last Saturday. It was a fun event and we truly appreciate the parent generosity. And, one of the special highlights this week was our 4th & 5th grade music performance with so many parents, grandparents, and others there to listen, enjoy, and support our students. Here's this week's News.
Upcoming OSAS Assessment For 3rd-8th Grade Students
State testing planning for Oregon's Statewide Assessment System (OSAS) is underway. Students in Grades 3-8 will be assessed in English Language Arts and Math and the 5th and 8th grade students will also be taking a science assessment.
OSAS Testing at RHS K-8 will commence late April-May, 2019.
A few reminders:
- We ask that the students get a good night's sleep and eat a healthy breakfast on test days.
- Phones and SMART watches may not be worn/held during the test session. Parents, you may want your child to leave his/her watch at home during the month of May.
- Please let your child's teacher know of any appointments/upcoming absences.

About Me
My name is Manavi Thakur and I will be your DiP (Dance is Play) coach! I am a junior at Jesuit High School in Portland, OR. I love spending time and working with kids, and staying tied to my roots in India. I have grown up listening and performing to world music, and I want to share my joy with you. I hope that this will be a good opportunity and a nurturing environment for kids to break a sweat, enjoy the company of their friends, and learn more about culture, in the form of dance!

Dear Raleigh Hills Families,
Each year, Raleigh Hills K-8 hosts an auction to raise funds for our school. This is the largest fundraising effort hosted by the PTO. Funds raised at this event go directly to support almost three-quarters of the amazing programs and opportunities that make Raleigh Hills the innovative and unique learning community that it is. It is a memorable tradition for teachers to host parties for students as part of the auction and we are excited to again extend this opportunity to ALL of our RHS families before the night of the auction.
As you would expect, space for these parties is limited and slots go quickly. If you are interested in signing your student up for a party, please fill out the form below, indicating which party/parties you would like your student to attend, and return it to your student’s teacher by Friday, April 26th. You will be notified when your spot(s) is held at which point you will need to submit your payment of $25 for each spot. Payment will reserve the spot. If parties fill, we will do a lottery with a waiting list. Any remaining slots will be made available to guests the night of this year’s auction. All proceeds from these parties go directly to the PTO for student learning and enrichment!
Teachers are very much looking forward to spending time with students, and this is always a meaningful opportunity to build relationships that support academic success in the classroom.
