A Peek at Our Week

It's so hard to believe the first week of May is over! We have been really busy last week, cramming in lots of work into our school day. We started our fairy tale unit in reading, began a unit of plants in science, worked on composing numbers 11-19 in math, and published our young author's books AND started a unit on personal narratives in writing. Also, I have begun the process of the end of the year assessments.

Coming Up This Week:

Reading: Comparing/Contrasting versions of The 3 Little Pigs and elements of a fairy tale

Writing: Finishing up Young Author's Books and writing more personal narratives

Math: Decomposing numbers 11-19

Science: Plants

Parents, Punch & Poetry

On Thursday, May 16 parents are invited to join us at 9:30 A.M. in our room for a celebration of your child's development as a writer! We will share our Young Author's books, do some fun activities related to reading, and of course it wouldn't be a party without cookies and lemonade. Be on the lookout for an invitation and permission slip this week, and plan to celebrate with us!
