Remote Learning Dec. 14th - 18th for Grades 1st - 8th

Just a reminder that 1st through 8th grades will go into Remote Learning NEXT WEEK December 14-18th. Teachers are working with Mrs. Goldsworthy on finalizing lesson plans and creating a Zoom schedule. That week’s remote learning will be synchronous, meaning students will need to follow the schedule their teachers provide and be fully available for instruction via Zoom calls. Zoom calls will be held in the AM with independent work/activities for the PM. Please make arrangements now so your students have both supervision and access to technology. Details will be sent out by teachers next week. Preschool and Kindergarten will continue in the building as normal Dec. 14-18th.

New CDC Guidelines Regarding Quarantines

Mrs. Goldsworthy emailed families earlier this week regarding the CDC’s updated guidelines for quarantines after COVID-19 exposure. Please review the guidelines, and continue to follow mitigation practices during this busy time of year. Mrs. Goldsworthy’s letter is also available on our school website.

SALT Shirts - Orders and Exchanges

Remember that if you need to order your new SALT shirt or make an exchange, your order must be submitted via the Google Form below by Dec. 14th. Questions? Contact Brigitte Silvernail - Brigitte.silvernail@gmail.com.

Link to order a NEW shirt or Exchange

All students and staff are entitled to one free SALT shirt to wear on our CSSE Day of Service (MLK Jr. Day) or when performing grade level service through our SALT program (Serve Appreciate Love Teach).

If your student's shirt still fits, no action is necessary! Just make sure you have located it and it's ready to wear on January 18th!

Report Cards and Christmas Break

The 2nd quarter/1st semester ends on Friday, Dec. 18th. Please make sure your accounts are in good standing (tuition, lunch, missing library books, etc). Negative account balances will result in a report card hold until balances are in good standing. Christmas break begins on Monday, Dec. 21st. We will return to school on Tuesday, Jan. 5th. Report cards will go home the Friday after we return. Have a safe and blessed Christmas break!

In Case You Missed It - School News on Repeat

Cleaning Products Clorox Wipes and other antibacterial cleaning products are limited and in demand again. While we still have some, we anticipate needing more throughout the school year. If you are out and about and see Clorox or any other antibacterial cleaning wipe, please pick up an extra for the school!

Calling all technology minded individuals! We would like to form a 2-3 person team of volunteers to help maintain technology around the school. IT service calls can take a huge bite out of our budget, so we are looking for people who have experience with maintaining networks and general troubleshooting (desktops, Chromebooks, printers, smart devices, etc). Ideally each volunteer would be able to make a 2-3 year commitment, and would help find their replacement before rolling off the tech team. An example of some of the tasks we need help with include updating desktops to Windows 10, making sure computers are connected to network printers, checking that security updates are completed regularly, setting up new equipment as needed, helping remove broken/outdated tech from inventory, salvaging usable components, etc. Please contact Mrs. Goldsworthy and reference Tech Team in your subject heading.

Show Green Team Your Green Practices! We wanted to reach out to all of our Green Team members and the school as a whole. Green Team is having a Photo Drive! Please take and share pictures of the environmentally friendly things you are doing at home over the Christmas holidays. This will be a fun way to connect and inspire others! Be everGreen! Email your photos and a brief explanation to Mrs. Hattaway, and we will share your posts!

Looking for a Volunteer Musician! We would love to have music in the church again! We are looking for a volunteer or two to play the piano or guitar for either or both school masses each week. If you are willing to play some of the liturgical music, please let Mrs. Goldsworthy know. principal@steugeneschool.org

He passed away this week following an illness. | Please pray for the repose of the soul of Zach Plunkett, cousin of Mrs. Hattaway. | Please pray for the repose of the soul of Jesús Aleman, brother of Deacon Adolfo Aleman/brother-in-law of Mrs. Aleman. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine up him. | We offer a prayer of thanksgiving for the Pham’s great aunt, Phuong Kim, who is doing better and at home following her battle with COVID-19. | Pray for all those who have been affected by Covid-19, whether by sickness, loss of job, isolation, or loneliness, etc. May all find strength, comfort and healing in this difficult time. | Pray for our staff who have been put in many extra hours and navigated new territory this school year. | Please pray for students and their families.
