Ring Leader Tidbits

~ Get excited for the Boosterthon!! We are doing great, but we still need more kids to register and collect pledges. Remember, there are prizes for teachers who have the most kids participate/most money pledged! I know you all want jeans for the rest of the year AND a gift card!!

~ Thank you to everyone who participated in the vertical meetings yesterday. They were very beneficial, and all of the input was appreciated and good conversations took place.

~ Just a reminder that TTESS end of the year conferences have been scheduled. Make sure to complete all the needed tasks (email was sent last week and again today) before your meeting.

~ Welcome back to Lilly!! We are SO excited she is back!! She has definitely been missed!!

~ This is a busy time of year with summer school information going home, final ARDs taking place, class lists being created, etc. Make sure to check email regularly and prioritize, so that you don't get overwhelmed. The more you can do early, the less stressful the last few weeks will be!

School Bulletin

~ Thank you if you have already turned in your Elk of the Month form. Please get those to Lilly to laminate, if you have not already.

~ Elkins will participate in "I caught you reading" on April 23rd. On this day, teachers/staff will drive through the neighborhoods around Elkins to "catch" kids reading. Evelyn is creating a board in the main hallway by her classroom to post any pictures and/or "evidence" that we see. I am also working on creating an Elkins Bedtime Stories flipgrid project that we can send home via email, where students can hear teachers reading a story. More information will be coming to you soon!!

~ We will have a short staff meeting today (Wednesday) in the library at 3:00. The new principal will be announced and will be here to meet everyone.

~ Shout out to the kindergarten teachers for taking time out of their conference times to go and do guided reading lessons in the ACES classroom. This has been SO appreciated, and the kids look forward to this each day! All 3 of you love kids so much, and we recognize how above and beyond you are all going by adding this to your day! Kuddos to you all!!

We've Got Character!

We are combining Great Expectations character traits as well as areas discussed in Positive Action to guide our Elk of the Month selections. These areas are also the areas that Tammie will be discussing in guidance lessons. They're pretty general, but we think that's what makes you all have some freedom and creativity when selecting the students.
