Over the last couple of months we’ve been busy & traveled near, far and many places in between. This applies to geographical as well as the business, industry, certification and education programs explored. Below is a list and pictures of the events, tours and presentations we’ve traveled to as well as hosted. Stay tuned for many more exciting and informative tours, events and presentations in the 2023/24 school year!
Opportunities and events are already in the planning stages for 23/24. Students remember to regularly check your emails for information and Google Form Sign Ups for these opportunities!

Below is a list of upcoming events and opportunities to not overlook or forget to attend if it applies to you or if you are interested in attending. Many of the events are open to those interested in attending & apply to the class of 2023 students. The only one that a Google Form Sign Up has already been emailed out for is the Caterpillar ThinkBIG Program presentation on 5/16. You can see Mr. Cowden for more information or details if needed.

5/17 During the last part of 5th period 2023 Local Scholarship Recipients - Meeting & walkthrough practice for Local Scholarship Awards Ceremony (the 75 seniors to attend will be sent a pass & email)
5/17 @ 6:30 pm in Cafeteria - Local Scholarships Awards Ceremony (Invites to the 75 students that applied have been mailed out to them & their families as well as emailed to the students. If you have questions see Mr. Cowden)
5/18 RCC Open House @ Table Rock Campus (See Flyer in this Newsletter)
5/25 All Things RCC - Students watch for the Google Form in your email soon to sign up! A day for all current seniors/2023 graduates planning to attend RCC next Fall & get support w/ anything RCC; including registering for Fall Term classes, financial aid, etc. - All school day in EPHS Library.
23/24 EPHS students that forecasted for the Phlebotomy Program or the Early College Program at RCC for next school year
5/30-6/1 Exact Date & Time TBD - Upcoming meeting for 23/24 EPHS students that forecasted for the Phlebotomy Program or the Early College Program at RCC for next school year. Mr. Cowden will be meeting with all of you that forecasted for either of these programs the week of 5/22 to let you know the exact date & time for an evening student & family meeting regarding these programs for next school year. At these evening meetings, many details & logistics will be covered as well as questions answered.

This program is in the planning stages. However, since it's a possibility for next year students are being allowed to forecast for & apply for it. It will take 3 periods in a student's high school schedule & students will travel to RCC Table Rock Campus each afternoon for their courses there. The program will be limited to a max of 18 students. Students must be a Junior or Senior in the 23-24 school year to be eligible.

Connect with your High School Counselor/Academic Advisor or the Career & College Coordinator at EPHS for any of the programs if you have any questions or need more information aside from what is below.
You’ll be required to connect with one of them for the Early Entry (SOU) or Early College (RCC) programs, as these programs require approval.

9th - 11 grade students & families - Visit the links below for post high school planning resources via BigFuture; grade level recommendations & checklists, plan for college, career exploration, college searches, scholarship searchers, etc. It’s never too early to start planning!

Lastly…..Don’t forget about your YouScience results, as these can be helpful in supporting you exploring your aptitudes, getting to know yourself & planning for post high school and your future.
Grant & Financial Aid Spotlight
OREGON PROMISE & FAFSA INFO & LINKS:
(Applying & qualifying for free $ is as simple as completing & submitting the applications!)
Oregon Promise Awards range from $2,058 to $4,248 (in 2023-24) for full-time, full-year students at any Oregon Community College.
The next deadline is JUNE 1st for high school students who graduate between March 1, 2023 - June 30, 2023 to apply.
Awarding has started for Class of 2023. Students will begin to be notified Wednesday, April 19. There is no EFC limit for Class of 2023 applicants.
All March 1 - June 30 graduates must apply by June 1 to be considered for the grant.
Students MUST submit 2023-24 FAFSA or ORSAA by JUNE 1 to be considered for Oregon Promise Grant in 2023-24.

***On Thursday, May 18th Eagle Center staff will be available in the EPHS Library all school day & until 4:00-5:00 to support with either of these application processes. Parents/guardians are welcome to attend (just check in through the front office) - again, this will be during the school day but we will also stay & be available until 4:00-5:00 if needed.***

RCC Foundation Scholarships App
Opened February 1st & Apply ASAP - Open year-round but see individual scholarships at link below for application deadlines.
Planning to attend Rogue Community College (RCC) next year (Fall – Spring)?
Have a GPA of at least 2.5?
Up to $700,000 is awarded for each school year.
About 1 in 2-4 applicants is offered one or more of the approximate 150 scholarships we manage.
Our goal is to award $1,000 - $6,000 to each recipient…YOU!
Why? Our donors want to help you not only start school, but graduate…with minimal debt.
