AES October Principal's Corner

What's Happening at AES?

Great Start To A Great Year!

August and September have flown by at Ashville Elementary. We have been very busy with beginning of the year testing, learning procedures, and brushing up on our school rules. October promises to be just as busy with events such as Homecoming, Red Ribbon Week, and our Boo Dawg Bash! Just know that we are enjoying having your students greet us with their precious smiles every morning. We love our students at AES and we are so thankful to get to share them with you. Please pay attention to their folders each day so that you will be "in the know" for upcoming events.

National School Bus Safety Week is Coming Oct 18th-22

Our bus drivers work hard every day to keep our students safe coming to and from school. Please take a moment during the week of October 18-22 to recognize your child's bus driver. A little note, snack, gift, or just a kind word goes a long way. These vital members of our school system are often overlooked. Please make a point to let them know what a great job they are doing.

Red Ribbon Week

This week allows us to re-enforce our drug prevention program at Ashville Elementary School. Students will have dress up days and will be taught important lessons about being drug free. This is a great opportunity for our teachers, students, and counseling staff to have powerful conversations about drug awareness and prevention.

Dress up Days/Events:

Monday Oct 25- We are to BRIGHT for drugs! Wear NEON colored clothing and sunglasses!

Tuesday Oct 26- We have too much SPIRIT for drugs! Wear your Ashville gear!

Wednesday Oct 27- RED DAY- Wear as much red as possible from head to toe.

Thursday Oct 28- We CAN say no to drugs- bring a can of food to donate to the local food bank
