This Week's "PAWS" For A Great Book Moment!

Fourth-grader Abygail Luft is recommending the book Lily to the Rescue by W. Bruce Cameron as this week's PAWS for a great book. In this story, the runt of the litter, Lily, meets a girl named Maggie Rose. Maggie Rose shows Lily that being small is not so bad, and Lily even learns how she can help other animals. Abygail likes this book because dogs are her favorite animal, and the author uses lots of expressions. If you would like to read this book, check it out in the library.

M-STEP Testing

Over the course of the next two weeks, our 3rd and 4th-grade students will be taking the state assessment called the Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress (M-STEP). As the spring testing window approaches, the teachers here at K.C. Ling Elementary have been working hard to help prepare the students for the M-STEP by taking time to work on the state-released practice items and to increase their comfort level with the technology-enhanced features of the test. The vast majority of our students will be taking the tests online. 3rd and 4th-grade students will be administered tests in ELA and Math. If you have any questions regarding M-STEP testing, please feel free to contact me at 989-642-5235.
