The Birmingham Brief
Week February 20-23, 2018
Together....we SHINE as One!!
"A diamond is a piece of coal under pressure. If you are feeling pressure today, you are about to SHINE!"
There are no words for how PROUD I am of our progress here at Birmingham!! The celebrations we shared during our middle of the year data talks on Monday afternoon made my heart smile!!! EVERY team had progress to share and an action plan for how each goal was going to be met!! I hope you left feeling confident in knowing that we are focusing on the right work. Campus-wide we are closing gaps and burning out hot spots......TOGETHER.....#1team1dream!!! #LetTheBellsRing LOUD and PROUD!!!
Even in the middle of these great celebrations, I know this time of year can be difficult. Besides all of the rain and the desparate need for sunshine, we have parent conferences going on, Checkpoints next week, STAAR just around the corner, Fine Arts competitions gearing up, and the pressure is on to move the DRA cards across the wall.....etc. Believe me...I'm feeling it too!! Someone very special sent me this as a reminder. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0ifIQNwXBE WE'VE GOT THIS!! It's my hope that you wake up each morning feeling this confident about the work you do for kids!! It's my hope that just as you cheer on your students you are cheering on yourself! YOU are the BEST of the BEST!! Birmingham Elementary = Greatest school in the history of the universe!!!!!

College Week Info from Sally Powers:
College Week is coming up and we are wanting to do a daily “winner” for a college prize from each grade level. We are going to announce the students on BNN each day, but since they are pre-recorded we need to get these names by Tuesday (February 27th). Please use the Google Sheet below to write your student’s name. We will send out more details next week about all the fun things we have planned.
