Mote's Note - A note from the Principal - Kyla Mote
Happy November Bearkat Families!
In a time of Thanksgiving, let me start by saying thank you for being an amazing stakeholder with our school. We appreciate you and the support you provide both the school and your child every day.
November brings cooler weather and with that I want to remind you to please label jackets, scarves, gloves, sweaters and sweatshirts with your students first inital and last name please on the tag. Labeling the tag will allow us to return items lost during the day.
November 8th, Monday, is our official 50th day. Dress 50's.
We are looking forward to our Veterans Day celebration on November 12th. This will take place in the front of the school and is for Veterans and one guest please. See below if you have not registered already.
November 18th we will be wearing blue to support our students with diabetes.
We will be having our annual student council food drive this month, see below.
Planning ahead, we have our "holiday's around the world" themed family night December 7th. We would love to have families participate by sharing their holiday/cultural traditions. If you would like to set up a space at a table and share, please fill out the form here.
You may have noticed that our wonderful front desk receptionist is no longer at Black, she took a job promotion in the district. We are in transition with finding and training a new receptionist. During this time, I am asking that you help us by remembering that we only have lunch visitors Mon-Thurs. We also do not have staff to run forgotten items to students so unless they have left glasses or other medically needed supplies at home, please know that we will not be delivering items to classrooms throughout the day. And finally, we can not support transportation changes after 3:30pm so please make sure you send a note with your child in the morning if you know they have a transportation change. Thank you for helping us in these ways.
I do have a very random need (want really): We are in need/want of 9 pinata's for something fun with our staff. If anyone has a contact or is able to help us with these, please email me.
Finally, I would love to hear about staff that you or your child are thankful for during the month. If you could have your student make a video, write a note, send an email, send a note through schoology or even call and leave a message about who they are thankful for and why, I would truly appreciate it. I would like to share these in a special way.
Thank you again for all your support!
¡Feliz noviembre Familias Bearkat!
