What's Happening in PBS?
Week of 3/16-3/20
Welcome to another week of PBS!
We are starting out this week finishing up our experimental design experiment with the heart vital signs. It has been really fun to watch the kids test kids from other classes with their experiment and see results. I highly encourage you to talk to your kids about what they have done for their experimental design. They will continue testing tomorrow and then write their lab report on Tuesday.
On Wednesday and Thursday they will be learning about LDL, HDL and cholesterol levels and how it relates to heart function. They will be partnered up and they have to make a video interaction between a doctor and a patient explaining test results and how the patient can make lifestyle choices to improve their health.
On Friday we will be moving on to recapping gel electrophoresis and practice using micropippetes before we do the actual Hypercholesterolemia lab next week.
As for HOSA this week...
- Announcement of those going to the Penn Valley Virtual Hospital will sent out early this week.
- Guest speaker on Tuesday in Mr. Lee's Room during collab - A medical student from UMKC
- Triple By-Pass Surgery watch party on Wednesday after school in PD Room (will be done at 3pm)
As always, feel free to email me any questions or concerns.
