1. Spirit Week 2019!
Movie Night will be held on Monday (10/7) from 6:00-8:00 pm in the MHHS Auditorium. Student Council will be playing Halloweentown.
This event is free but if you are interested in attending you must sign up through the google form attached! Please bring your student ID with you when you check in to the event!
NOTE: The Powder Puff game (originally scheduled for Sunday, October 6th) is postponed. The new date for Powder Puff is TBA

2. TWO Special Presentations for Parent/Guardians! The Dangers of Vaping by David Neill 10/17 & 10/22
We are fortunate to offer TWO special presentations from David Neill to afford more parents/guardians the opportunities to attend!
October 17, 2019 at 6:30 PM in the Mt. Hope High School Auditorium.
October 22, 2019 at 6:00 PM in the KMS Auditorium
OPEN to ALL KMS and Mt. Hope Families/Guardians! See the flyer below for details!
The presentation will cover the inherent dangers of e-cigarettes, vaporizers, e-juices, and THC extracts. Attendees will learn about how e-cigarettes and vaporizers work, what they look like, whats in them, inherent dangers, FDA's role and how to help a child overcome nicotine addiction.
3. Flu Vaccine Clinics 10/16 & 11/7
There will be two Flu Vaccine Clinics for students and their families.
Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Mt. Hope High School from 4-6: in the cafeteria
Thursday, November 7, 2019 at KMS from 4-6:30
Bring your insurance card. No money is required. If you do not have insurance, you can still get vaccinated!

6. Upcoming Student Assemblies for October!
7. Aspen Portal
If you have not done so yet, students and families should log into their Aspen accounts. You can view student schedules, monitor grades, and view report cards for the 2019-2020 school year.
If you cannot access your parent or student account you must email portal@bwrsd.org. In that email you must include: student name, DOB and grade.
We will not be printing report cards for students, so it is important that you are able to access Aspen.

8. Extra Curricular Clubs and Activities Sign Ups
Please review the attached brochure with descriptions of Mt. Hope's clubs and Activities and encourage your child to join in staying connected! Students can either contact the club advisor or complete the attached Google Form to sign up! If you have any questions related to the club/activity, please reach out directly to the advisor (listed in the brochure).

10. School Breakfast & Lunch: Free and/or Reduced Meal Program Information
Attached is a flyer explaining how you can apply for the Free and/or Reduced Meal Program. We will not be sending home the application with each student. If you want one sent home with your child please contact the Guidance Office at MHHS directly at 254-5980 X 3020 or 3021
Please note:
You can now apply on-line.
If you qualified last year that benefit will only carry over until Oct. 11, 2019. You Must reapply by that date or your child will lose their benefits. If you receive SNAP benefits you can wait for your letter from DHS.
Only 1 application is needed per family please. If you have any questions please feel free to email back or call Bernadette Emery - 401-253-4000, Ext. 5109 or bernadette.emery@bwrsd.org.
