Classified Employee of the Year

Dwyer is proud to announce that our Classified Employee of the Year for 2017-18 is Laura Voorhees. Mrs. Voorhees is a para-educator who was nominated and selected by her peers for this award. She has worked in this position for 5.5 years at Dwyer and 9 years total in HBCSD.

Mrs. Voorhees works with our Special Education students in various capacities. She helps students one-on-one in the classroom to make sure they are keeping up and understand the material. She assists before and after school to make sure students get on and off the bus and she assists them in joining activities during lunch. Mrs. August said, "She sets the example for her coworkers and students she works with that kindness and patience are important." Miss Hovenden added, "There are times each day where Mrs. Voorhees goes out of her way to reassure students and to help them make good choices."

Congratulations, Mrs. Voorhees! We are proud to have you in the Jr. Oiler family.
