"Mil-Spec"(Military Specification complaint Paracord) paracord is made from 100% nylon. It is stronger and more reliable than commercial paracord. Because so it is manufactured by very tightly defined requirements in the nineteen-page Military Specification C-5440H.
Paracord means it is an inexpensive, readily available lightweight rope. It initially developed by the United States military in World War 2. It is used for secure equipment or onto vehicles, and to tie camouflage nets to trees or vehicles, and a huge variety of other "tying" and "binding" applications.
Parachute cord is called also paracord or 550 cords when referring to type-3 paracord. Parachute cord is a lightweight nylon kernmantle rope.
Paracord or 550 cords is referring to type 3 paracord. This cord is useful for general purpose utility cord by both military personnel and civilians and many other tasks. The braided sheath has a high number of interwoven strands for its size, and giving it a relatively smooth texture. The all-nylon construction makes paracord fairly elastic.
Additional uses of parachute cord are in the manufacture of items such as lanyards, belts, dog leashes, rosaries, and for in key chains. This is becoming more popular as crafters are discovering these materials.
