BPMS NEWS NOTICIAS DE BPMS
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 2 / MIÉRCOLES 2 DE FEBRERO
We need each other more than ever right now! This month let's focus on reaching out to connect with others and doing our best to be a good friend. Our acts of kindness and connection ripple out and impact so many more people than we realize - and they also boost our own happy hormones too! In stressful times people around us may be feeling the strain, so let's try to keep calm, take time to listen and show compassion.
Speak to your children as if they are the wisest, kindest, most beautiful and magical humans on Earth, for what they believe is what they become!
CHESS CLUB COMING TO BPMS!
Chess has been the ultimate game of strategy for generations. It is a fun and entertaining way to challenge the mind, chess is one of the most popular games in the world. Mr. Wilson is starting a Chess Club at Baker Prairie Middle School and he wants you to join.
We will meet Monday and Thursday from 2:45-4:15 and will start on Monday, January 31. Chess is fun and will teach you great life skills like increasing concentration, pattern recognition, attention span, time management, and planning ahead. Chess Club will be for students who want to have fun and learn a new game and for students who like to be competitive and challenge wits against an opponent. Join now!
See Mrs. Turner at lunch time to pick up a permission slip.
WINTER WEATHER PREP
As the temperatures continue getting colder, it’s time to start preparing for winter weather and the snow bus routes, school delays, or closures that can come along with it.
When inclement weather strikes, the district will make decisions about school as early as possible -- sometimes even the night before, but our goal is by no later than about 5:30 a.m. on the day of the weather event. The message will go out via FlashAlert and will then be reported on most news websites and TV stations.
To make sure you’re set to receive the information, again, please subscribe to Canby School District on FlashAlert. Now is also a good time to update your text preferences online by listing your phone number. For more information, please see our inclement weather page.
