Dear Warrior Families,

Fall is here, and we are excited about the cooler weather. All of our sports teams are off to a fantastic start! Please try to catch a game and cheer our warriors on! Our live schedule is linked below. Additionally, the parent/caregiver Send Silence Packing letter is below. Homecoming is this weekend, and we have over 850 students attending the event. Many thanks to the extra staff and administrators who volunteered last minute to make this happen. We are confident that our Warriors will make this an extraordinary night for those in attendance.

Sincerely,

Dr. Mobley

Attention Class of 2026--BE A LEADER

Dear Class of 2026:

This year’s KP freshmen elections will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. Any freshman interested in running for class government or student council rep will need to submit a nomination form and a speech on video . The videos will be compiled and shown in the auditorium during first block on the 28th. Classmates will then vote through a google form.

King Philip's student government is split into two–Class Officers/Student Government and Student Council. That is, you vote for class president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer, as well as four(4) student council representatives.

Student Government is for your class only(Class of 2026)

Elections for class office occur annually. Student Government or class officers include- President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. As a member of class government, you will plan and attend meetings and plan and organize all of your class’ events, including prom. Two advisors guide each class.

Student Council

Annually, each class elects four(4) representatives to be on the student council executive board. Student Council represents the entire school and is made up of a mix of students from all different grades. Student Council is the voice of the student body and plans activities and opportunities which are inclusive of the entire student body. They plan such activities as homecoming, class competitions, Friday Night Live, etc. Representatives meet weekly as part of the executive board and represent your class.

You have the choice to run for Student Government which includes President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer, or one of the four Student Council representatives positions. To qualify to run, you must:

  1. Complete the nomination form, which is attached, and turn it in by Monday, September 19 in the library

  2. Email your video to the Student Council (stuco@kingphilip.org) by September 21. It will be put into a video arrangement and shown on the morning of September 28.
