Elementary Remote Access
In the event that an elementary student needs to quarantine, or if we are forced to move into remote/hybrid learning, we want to ensure that all elementary students have home computer access. For clarity, there is currently no expectation that we will be switching to remote/hybrid learning at any grade level, but we want to be fully prepared in case the state requirements change.
To that end, we would like elementary families to indicate whether or not their student(s) would need to temporarily borrow a computer from us to provide home access. Knowing in advance helps us ensure we can get students what they need in a timely manner.
We are asking all our elementary families to please log into Skyward Family Access and complete the Elementary Remote Access Needs form for each elementary student in your family to indicate whether or not you have computer and/or internet access needs.

PTSA Reflections Information
Reflections Overview For Families and Students
Welcome to the WSPTA Reflections program!
Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school, but in life.
Students in pre-K through grade 12 create original works of art in response to a theme. The theme for the 2021-2022 program year is I Will Change The World By… Students submit their completed works of art in one, or all, of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts.
While the primary focus of Reflections is a celebration of creativity through positive recognition, finalists from local PTAs will move on to their council PTA (if applicable), then finalists from councils will move on to the state round. Washington State PTA finalists who receive an “Outstanding Interpretation” award will advance to the National PTA round. National PTA Reflections awards for 2020-2021 can be found here.
Young artists get involved by contacting their local PTA leaders. The deadline for turning in artwork to our PTSA is Friday, October 29.
Did you know that Tahoma offers many wonderful employment opportunities?
There are so many great opportunities right now to expand your role in our Tahoma family. We have job openings in a number of buildings and departments, including right here at our school. We’d love to have friendly faces in our school who are already deeply invested in our district, and who are passionate about our students! If you’d make a great addition to our Tahoma team, please consider checking out our job board and dropping in an application HERE.
If you’re passionate about being the first happy face that greets our students when they get on the bus each day, consider joining our outstanding transportation team as a bus driver (starting at $29.29 - 30.86/hour). The district is currently offering a $3,000 bonus for new permanent drivers who already have all the required school bus driving credentials. New drivers needing paid training will start and be paid as substituted drivers, and will be reimbursed for their CDL licensing expenses after working with us for 30 days.
If you’re interested in asking questions in person, district staff will be available at the Legacy Site pavilion across the street from the Central Services Center and Rock Creek Elementary School (Maple Valley Farmers Market grounds) from 1-4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30.
If you can’t make it in person and have questions, email us at jobs@TahomaSD.US.

Lost and Found Information
Dear Wildcats,
If your student has lost an item, the Lost and Found is now available to access after school when the students are gone Monday-Thursday between 3:20-4:00. Please check in at the Main Office and we can direct you to the Lost/Found Closet.
Our closets are starting to get full. One way to avoid that is putting your student(s) name on their clothing so our staff can deliver them when found.
