A Message From the Director
Hello Dream Team,
A Teaching Fantasy
By: Margaret Hatcher
I teach.
Ideas and words are my business.
I toss them into the air
and watch them float
softly
as autumn leaves.
They float around your heads,
drift in piles on your desk tops,
glide along your sleeves
and whisper and dance
around your ears
Someday
one may catch your attention
and inspire you with its color
at least for a season.
We are teachers!
I leave you with this poem this week to ponder. Have a great week and I can't wait to get back to share my learning experiences with each of you.
The Dream Team Will Fight!
Sincerely,
Andrea
FREE PERKS FOR UPLIFT EMPLOYEES!
FAIL YOUR WAY TO SUCCESS!
INSTRUCTIONAL & CULTURAL FOCUS AREAS
Instructional Focus:
Develop high quality questions: Plan your questions in advance. Students should have to explain answers, elaborate on responses, or provide information on their thought process. Be sure to plan your exemplar responses
Quickly follow up with students. The sooner you can see and act on students’ strengths and weakness, the better. If several students are making a particular error, speak directly to them about the nature of the error and how to avoid it
Don’t repeatedly write the same comment if lots of students are making the same error. Better to spend that time planning how to reteach the skill the next day.
Cultural Focus:
Setting High Expectations & Being Consistent
