Message from the Principal...
This week we are hoping for cooler weather and the promise of lots of sweet treats in the months to come. Fall is a wonderful time of family, food, and football!
We have many events coming up this month from Lion Dash Color Run to Canton in Conroe. Lots of fun for everyone.
We also have some giving opportunities. We will be collecting used coats for the CISD police department and non-perishable food for the Montgomery County Food Bank. Both of these giving opportunities will bless not only some of our Lion families but also many families in the Conroe area.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child,
Malinda Stewart

National Child Identification Program
Greetings,
Passed in the last session, SB 2158, provides children K-8 an inkless child identification fingerprint/dna card. The last distribution would have provided for the current year 9th graders to have received a kit as Kindergarteners.
We will distribute a kit to every child in the district. This is an In-Home fingerprint kit and it is to be stored at Home. All the information and instructions are on the kit.
Again, we thank you for being a part of this extremely important safety initiative for the children of Texas!
Gifted and Talented Nominations
Now that we are in October, the window is open for nominations for Gifted and Talented testing. You can nominate your child for testing from now until Friday, December 16. Identification in the GT program requires advanced academic accountability. Students will be required to work independently on accelerated curriculum as a part of the program. Please read the following guidelines for your child's specific grade level:
Kindergarten and First Grade Students: If you are interested in having your child screened for the Gifted and Talented program, you must have a conference with your child's homeroom teacher first to discuss the requirements prior to December 16.
Second Grade Students: No nomination necessary. All students will take the first part of the GT test on Oct. 17- Oct. 21. We get scores back in December. Once we get the results, we will notify you if your child qualifies for the second part of the GT test.
Third and Fourth Grade Students: Nomination forms can be obtained on campus at the front desk or from your child's homeroom teacher. Please return completed forms before December 16, 2022 to Mrs. Masiel.
