Swenson's Weekly Scoop

Highlights from September 15th - September 19th

What have we been up to?

We finished up our two week unit on character traits and motivations by creating character silhouettes (see picture below). We also started a new social studies rotation. We are now learning about the Western Hemisphere from Ms. Sorenson. In math, we are continuing our unit on factors and multiples.

We also attended an assembly called "Every Day Leaders" by Ronald McDonald. He taught us how everyone can be a leader by remembering the following acronym: L.E.A.D. Ask your students if they remember what these stand for.

Homecoming Parade

The homecoming parade will take place this Friday, September 26th at 1:30. We hope you can join in the fun!

Test Grades

With most of our weekly tests being done on the iPad, you will see less paper copies coming home. If you are wondering how your child is doing, please check the parent portal through Infinite Campus. I try to update grades every couple of days so their grades should be accurate. If you can't remember your information, please let me know.

*You can see your student's test summary for their spelling test by going to the Spelling City app. I have showed the students how to access this, so they should be able to show you how they are doing on their weekly spelling test.

Character Traits Silhouettes

We have been learning about character traits and motivations for the past two weeks. The students were asked to think about their own traits. They typed up their traits in a Google doc and cut/pasted them onto their own silhouette. Can you find your child?
