With reduced attendance required, each band will have their very own night to shine!
Every student will receive two tickets for family members. You will find a link below to reserve your seats for your child’s concert. There is no admission fee. Due to space limitations and social distancing guidelines, we cannot offer more tickets to this concert.

SAXY CHRISTMAS
It’s that time of year for Saxy Christmas! Saxy Christmas is a group of saxophone players who get together and spread the holiday spirit through the community via live performances. If you play saxophone, please join us. Complete this online form if you’re interested.
LOST AND FOUND
Our closet for missing items is overflowing! We’ll be emptying the contents for students to claim their items the week of November 16. Parents, we encourage you to stop by the tables outside the band room before/after the game on Friday, November 20th to see if you recognize anything that belongs to your family! (We will donate all remaining items after the Thanksgiving break.)
BAND BOOSTERS UPDATES
TREASURER NEEDS ASSISTANCE
We need 1-2 people to help our Treasurer receive and record all monies and deposit in an account established by the Association or the Band. Please contact Aimee Christian at treasurer@roswellband.com if you are able to help.
UPDATE: Our 4th Annual M.A.R.C.H. Community Service Day
We are looking for a Chairperson to lead our 4th annual M.A.R.C.H.
M.A.R.C.H. stands for Musicians Acting with Responsibility, Compassion, and Hard work. If you are new to the band family or want a recap, here is a quick video of our inaugural campaign from 2018: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwEAWMNCb-k&t=2s
The Chair will be responsible for leading a team of five. (So the Chair will have plenty of help!) He/she simply needs to be well organized.
Main focus:
Kick off M.A.R.C.H. at December’s General Meeting. Then there are regular updates and reminders to help us meet our fundraising goals.
Be sure we have plenty of work sites in place, make sure we have gardening tools, and arrange for food & transportation for the service day 3/13/21.
Our Co-President, Michael Dal Cerro, will be happy to help the new lead get started using last year’s materials and blueprint. If you are interested, contact supportservices@roswellband.com
HELP US CONTINUE TO PLAY STRONG!
For the next few weeks, we’ll be highlighting various board positions and committees so that you can learn more about our terrific organization. We want every parent to be a part of this award-winning program!
VP of LOGISTICS
Our VPs of Logistics are “Jacks of all Trades.” If something needs to be built, if something gets broken, if something needs to be moved, our VPs are there to help. There are many opportunities throughout the year to assist with these projects. Please watch for announcements calling for helpers.
Pit Crew
This is a committee under our VPs which is responsible for moving out equipment down to the field for football games and getting equipment on and off the field for football games and competitions.
Band Banquet
This committee is responsible for organizing and planning the band’s annual banquet at the end of every school year. It takes someone organized and creative to head this committee. It’s a lot of fun because it is a time we get to celebrate all of our talented musicians’ accomplishments.
If you have any interest in serving on a board position, a committee lead, or to be part of a committee please don’t hesitate to contact our VP of Support Services, Jane Sowden at supportservices@roswellband.com or at 404-931-7901. She is happy to go over any questions you may have about any positions.
Band Changes Lives.
Help Us Continue To Play Strong.
Nominating Committee
The following people are members of this year’s Nominating Committee: Michael Moon, Mike Long, Michael Dal Cerro, Shannon Woodson, Jennifer Ross, Rob Ross, and Gretchen Shirley. The committee shall solicit candidates for officers as provided in the bylaws and present a paper ballot or virtual ballot on the Band’s website to the general membership prior to the December meeting.
If you are interested in serving as an officer on our 2021 Executive Board, contact michaeld@dalcerro.com.
Save the Date: General Membership Meeting
We will have a virtual General Membership Meeting on Wednesday, December 9 at 7pm. Stay tuned for login details. Key topics on the agenda include votes for 2021 Executive Board and a Bylaws amendment.
