  • Students in grades 4-6 will be bringing home their MCAS score reports from last spring's evaluation. If your child was not at our school in the spring, they will not be bringing this home.
  • The next SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Committee) meeting is coming up. During the October SEPAC meeting, the Director of Pupil Services, Leann Loomis will be presenting the Annual Parents Rights and Responsibilities.

  • Save the Date: MTRSD LITERACY NIGHT: The Mohawk Trail Regional School District, the Mary Lyon Foundation and It Takes A Village have partnered up to host Literacy night on November 17th from 3:30 to 5:30 in the high school cafeteria. This event is open to all students who are currently enrolled in preschool through 2nd grade in the Mohawk Trail/Hawlemont School Districts. A flyer with more detailed information will be coming soon.

Qualify for $50/month or more off your Whip City Fiber bill during Back-to-School

Whip City Fiber is participating in the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program. For eligible households, this program will provide a discount of $50.00 toward monthly broadband service (one credit per household). Recently, the FCC has expanded eligibility to include students who qualify for free and reduced-price lunch during the current school year.

A household is eligible for a monthly $50 credit if one member of the household meets at least one of the following criteria:

· Experienced a substantial loss of income through job loss or furlough since February 29, 2020 and the household had a total income in 2020 at or below $99,000 for single filers or $198,000 for joint filers;

· Has an income that is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines or participates in certain assistance programs, such as SNAP, Medicaid or the FCC’s Lifeline program;

· Is approved to receive benefits under the free and reduced-price school lunch program or the school breakfast program, including through the USDA Community Eligibility Provision, in the 2019-2020, 2020-2021, and 2021-2022 school years;

· Received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year.
