Dear Laurel Elementary Families,

No foolin'! It is difficult to believe that we have starter April. This year is flying by!

Spring Pictures

Spring pictures are on Monday with Lifetouch. All students will have their photo taken and photos will be available for order through Lifetouch.

Mama Duck

The egg count is at three for our nest of future ducklings. We have a viewpoint from inside the building that allows kids to monitor Mama Duck without disturbing her. It is an exciting event to be sure.

FunTastic Fridays

All month long we are having Funtastic Fridays to celebrate the arrival of spring and all that it brings.

• Today was ALL ONE COLOR day
• April 8 - Mismatch and Clash Day
• April 15 - Sports Theme Day - dress to support your favorite team or sport
• April 22 - Earth Day! dress to celebrate the Earth or wear all green
• April 29 - Career Day - dress for your future career

Crosswalk

The crosswalk markings in front of the school were removed for repaving. Please slow down and watch for kiddos and crossing guards while dropping off or picking up. The markings will be repainted next week.

Annual Oregon State Assessment Testing will begin for grades 3 and 4 on May 2. THis year all 3rd and 4th graders will take the computer adaptive test (CAT) in both English/Language arts and Math as well as a performance task in both subjects.

Hello families! Your school counselors, Susan Remmers and Whitney Moss will be delivering the annual Body Safety lessons to all students K-4 (if not opted-out) starting April 7th.

On March 29th, your students will be coming home with an opt-out permission form, as well as information about key objectives that will be taught during the four lessons. You can also find the permission form here: (please see attachment).
