Meet the Staff of OSLELC
Growing in faith, love, confidence, and independence
Get to Know Us!
* My name is Breanna Garaghty and I am 24 years old.
* My husband's name is Max. We have been together for 7 years and we got married August 10th! We don't have any human children yet, but we do have a dog named Bentley!
* I have been working with children for 10+ years! I started babysitting for family and friends at 14 years old. After that, I started my first job as a daycare aide at 16 years old and have been working in daycare ever since!
* I was born and raised in Hutchinson, MN. My husband and I just bought our second home in Hutchinson, this time in the country and on a lake!
* I went to school at OSL from 2nd grade until 8th grade. So when I found out OSL was looking for someone to work in the daycare, I knew it was the perfect fit for me!
* I love spending time with my nieces and nephews! I especially love going out to my parent in laws farm and riding around on golf carts and going down to the lake!
* My favorite thing to do with children is art projects, taking them outside and going on walks! I wish we could do it all year round because they absolutely love the fresh air and when we go to the park!
* I am very blessed to be working with some of the best kiddos, here at OSL. I learn so much from all of them and enjoy being able to come to work everyday and seeing their smiling faces :)
I am Candace Metzger. After three years of being invited, coaxed and urged to work at OSL’s ELC, I finally closed my own home childcare and cheerfully accepted the invitation to work here in June of this year.
I was born and raised in Gaylord MN, graduated with a teaching degree in Elementary and Special Education from Mankato State University and got my first real job. After teaching special education in Lanesboro MN for three years, I moved to the cities where I worked with developmentally delayed children and adults in their homes, schools and work sites. As part time jobs, I also worked in two different preschool/daycare settings. Following 10 months of city living, at the advice of a family member, I bought a home in Hutchinson, opened my own licensed childcare business and joined OSL Church. During the years as a home childcare provider, I also worked at two other home sites for developmentally delayed adults, taught in two different preschools, got married and had three children (all of whom attended OSL school), and worked as a paraprofessional in Hutchinson school district’s special ed department. I closed my childcare while I worked as teacher/director in a former OSL childcare for 7 years. When that closed, I chose to relicense my home childcare, where I have been for the past 8 years before coming here.
Working with so many families and their children of varying ages and developmental abilities, has been such a joy. Watching them grow from infants to school age children, and later seeing them as happy, successful adults with children of their own, has convinced me to stay in this chosen profession. Despite the many obvious and not so obvious challenges involved, I am still loving it all after 30+ years. Joining these families, children, and staff at OSL’s ELC has already been another positive move of my career and my life.
I have been in the preschool business pretty much my whole working career. I taught preschool for 5 years in Litchfield at Crackerjack Preschool. Then, in 1983, I helped start Little Lambs Preschool at Peace Lutheran in Hutchinson. I worked there for 36 years. Now, I am lucky enough to be working at Our Savior's Preschool. So, I'd say "Preschool" is my middle name! I enjoy this age so much and love to see children learn new things, master skills, and grow in their confidence. Spreading the love of Jesus is another wonderful part of my job. Being a part of a child's first school experience by making it a fun, loving, safe and learning atmosphere, along with starting their walk of faith, is the best!
Diane’s childcare experience started 33 years ago raising her four now grown children. When the two oldest girls (Hilary and Heidi) started college the same year the youngest (Baby Laura) started kindergarten, the thought of an empty house prompted her to agree to care for a friends new baby. As more parents asked her to watch their kids she became a licensed daycare provider. After 10 years of caring for kids in her home, she joined Our Saviors Lutheran Early Childhood Learning Center when they opened in the fall of 2016. She thoroughly enjoys working here and feels truly blessed to have such an amazing director and coworkers. And the families and kids here are wonderful!
In 2018, she earned her Child Development Associate Credential specializing in infant and toddlers, and she is looking forward to the expansion at OSL-ELC to make room for more babies, especially the siblings of our current kids!
Diane lives near Hutchinson with her husband, Jim, too many cats, just enough chickens and occasionally one dog named Sheldon.
Hello! My name is Miss. Isabell and I am very excited to be a part of the OSLELC team and have the opportunity to get to know all the children and their families as they grow. I graduated from Ridgewater College here in Hutchinson with my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education in May of 2019. I have years of experience working with children through babysitting and nannying. I have one year of experience in a childcare center setting where I was a lead toddler teacher in my own classroom.
I am from Silver Lake and am currently living in Hutchinson with my boyfriend, of five and a half years, Cole. In my free time I like to enjoy the outdoors by camping, biking, hunting, and fishing. I also enjoy baking (especially making and decorating cupcakes), cooking, watching movies, and spending time with my family and my kitties. :)
My favorite thing to do with the children at daycare is reading books because it aids in their development in so many different ways and children can experience so much just by sitting together and being read to out loud. I also love to get down on their level to explore and play with them.
I look forward to continuing to get to know all the families and each child as a unique individual, to watch them learn, grow, and develop skills they will use for a lifetime, and hopefully experience great memories they will hold with them through the years.
My husband is Bob Winslow and we live in Hutchinson. We have two sons. Mitch Erickson and his wife Lindsay live in Mayer, MN. Randy Erickson and his wife Mary live in Woodstock, GA. Randy and Mary are expecting their first child in November. I am a member of Faith Lutheran Church. My hobbies include reading, camping, and flower gardening.
I truly enjoy working with children and providing them a positive, safe, fun environment. Seeing the progress that is made by each student is very rewarding to me.
My name is Reyne Oster and I have worked with OSLELC for the past three years. My husband Kevin and I have been married for 30 years. We met in Washington State where I earned a BA in Christian Education. We have one daughter who is currently student teaching in Little Canada, Minnesota.
I love the people aspect of childcare. I love parents, children and especially my fellow staff; being part of a team, working towards goals, and sharing ideas makes me feel good!
My favorite seasonal pastime is flowers in the summer and in winter, my seasonal pastime is waiting for summer. I will be trying to improve my pickleball game this winter. We play here at OSL on Thursdays. We have two courts and all are welcome!
