Back to School Night

Dear Lenape Parent/Guardian:

On behalf of the faculty and staff at Lenape Middle School, I would like to invite you to join us for our annual Back-To-School Night, which will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013, beginning at 6:45 P.M. This night is an opportunity for you to meet your child’s teachers and visit their classrooms.

The Back-To-School Night schedule does not provide for individual parent-teacher conferences. However, if you wish to meet with a staff member at some later date, our Guidance Department would be happy to arrange a conference at a time that is convenient. TEAM conferences are also possible.

As you follow your child’s schedule, please understand that you will not be seeing all of the classes that your son or daughter will be taking this year at Lenape. Some courses are scheduled on alternate days and some during other marking periods.

At 6:45 P.M., we ask that you be in your child’s homeroom for any last minute announcements about the evening or to get information from your child’s team. (Please be sure to ask your son or daughter their homeroom number before coming to Back to School Night. You will receive a copy of their schedule in homeroom.)

I look forward to meeting you and to a successful school year. Thank you for your support and contributions to our school community.

Note: Parking on Back-To-School Night will utilize the lots at the Doylestown Baptist Church and the two doctors’ offices adjacent to Lenape. You can also park at Doyle Elementary and walk to Lenape on the paved bike path. If possible, we would encourage you to carpool from your neighborhood.

School Picture Day - September 10th

C and C Photo Studios will be at Lenape on Tuesday, September 10th to take photos of all Lenape students. (All students will be photographed for school records and will receive a photo ID whether or not they purchase a photo package.) Photo package information was sent home with students on Friday, September 6th. You can also view and download a form here. (Students should give the photographer the form with exact change or a check made payable to C and C Photo Studios.)

Lenape School Fundraiser Kickoff - September 12th

Lenape has only one school-wide fundraiser and that is a magazine/cookie dough campaign. Profits from this campaign offset some field trip costs, pay for the Agenda Plan Books, and provide other operating funds for the Parent Council and Student Government. The kick-off assembly for this fundraiser is Thursday, September 12th. Students will be given explicit instructions to not go into the neighborhood for door-to-door selling. This is a family, relatives, and friend’s sale. Please support this important fundraising activity.

A few parent volunteers are needed and critical to the success of this fundraiser. Volunteers count money and process orders on our “collection days”. No experience is necessary! It is actually fun. If you can help out, please call the school office at 267-893-2800. It is a quick and short-term way to volunteer your help to the school. We look forward to hearing from you!

Parent Liaison Needed

We are still looking for a parent to be the school’s CB Cares Boomerang Liaison. Duties to include PR for the program and helping to organize two Boomerang breakfast events. Minimal meeting time required.

9/11 Heroes Run - Travis Manion Foundation - Saturday, September 15th

The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K & 1 Mile fun run/walk welcomes runners and walkers of all levels and of all ages. Events take place all over the world. The Doylestown Heroes Run is the perfect opportunity for your community to personally come out and thank your local first responders, military, and veterans in an annual, fun, and family friendly environment. You are welcome and encouraged to form your own teams, set up a tent in tent row, wear team colors and be creative!

Traffic Flow - Very Important!

Please see the traffic flow information and map on our website for details.

Between the hours of 7:00-8:00 A.M. and 2:00-3:00 P.M. all traffic should enter off Rt. 202 (W. State St.) and exit onto West Street. This traffic procedure was established for the protection of students. Please help us make this a safe procedure. The police help to enforce this traffic flow.

Morning Arrival Procedure

All students arriving prior to 7:10 A.M. (parent drop-off, walkers, or bus students) MUST enter the specific doors noted on the map and report directly to the cafeteria until 7:10 A.M. (This includes students with musical instruments and/or sports equipment.)

CHORAL ROOM DOORS – Bus students are dropped off at these doors.

MAIN OFFICE AND GYMNASIUM DOORS – Students walking to school or being dropped off by car should enter here.

At 7:10 A.M. all students will be dismissed from the cafeteria to their lockers and homeroom to get ready for the school day. Breakfast items are available for sale during this time as well. Homeroom begins promptly at 7:30 A.M.

Online Free and Reduced Lunch Applications

Central Bucks has a streamlined meal application procedure. Parents may complete and submit meal applications online. This process is totally anonymous and very easy to complete. Click here to access the online application. Parents wishing to complete a paper application may request one from the food services office at 267-893-5758.

Online Student Meal Payments

Your online school meal account has been successfully upgraded to mySchoolBucks. This site offers more information, improved features and increased security. You may have already visited mySchoolBucks.com and experienced all that it has to offer. If you have not had the opportunity to visit the site, we encourage you to begin using this new site immediately, with the same login information from MyNutrikids.com. Please click here for login and payment information. Parents can view student balances and receive automatic low balance information via email.

On the first day of school all students will receive a card with their new 5 digit lunch account ID number on it. Students will need to use this number or school ID to pay for prepaid lunches in the cafeteria.

Athletic Information

Students should listen to the morning announcements regarding athletic team tryouts. Information will also be posted on Lenape's website under Announcements.

Students should give their completed PIAA Sports Physical Form directly to their coach on the first day of tryouts.
