Morning arrival expectations

Our students are receiving reminders regarding morning arrival and we want to ensure our parents/guardians are aware of the expectations for all students. We are seeing an increase of students roaming the hallways as well as congregating in restrooms and the cafeteria. This is leading to an increase of student behaviors and discipline.

6:55 - Car Riders begin entering the building.

7:00 - Bus Riders begin entering the building.

  • Students are to report directly to Tutorial class upon arrival, unless they need to get breakfast.
  • Students who want breakfast, report directly to the commons area to grab it and go straight to their classroom.
  • Students are to have hoods pulled down and hats off upon entering the building.
  • Masks should be worn properly, covering the nose.

Any student who becomes defiant and argumentative with staff, including the use of profanity towards staff, will receive disciplinary consequences.

Winter Bus Safety/Expectations

Lakeview Guardians,

As we begin to enter our winter months and snow becomes an increased possibility, we want to ensure that we continue to provide a safe method of travel for all our students this year. While we have seen an increased desire for families to use their own forms of transportation with their student to and from school, we still have a large population of our student body who ride the buses. Many of these students are practicing respectful, responsible, and above all, safe behavior while on the bus. However, we are experiencing a larger than normal number of students who are demonstrating behavior that could distract the driver, placing themselves and others at risk. Because of this, we are asking for your help once more. If you have a student who is a bus rider, please have a conversation with them regarding bus rider expectations. These have been reviewed with students on multiple occasions by both their bus drivers and the school. These expectations can be found below:

  • Sitting flat in the seat, facing forward.
  • Speak and act with kindness towards each other, making others feel welcome.
    • No profanity.
    • No screaming or yelling.
  • Keep isle's clear of obstruction.
  • Hands and feet should be kept to oneself.
  • No throwing of objects.
  • Horseplay is not permitted.
  • All objects should be kept within the bus (including parts of our body).

If a student exhibits behavior that is in violation of our bus rider policies, those students are given a bus referral from either the driver or the school administration. Should a student receive a referral, he or she will possibly receive a suspension from the bus and families will have to provide their own transportation to and from school. Should a behavior violate board policy, further consequences may also apply. Each subsequent referral will result in progressive consequences, which could eventually result in the complete loss of transportation privileges.

We understand the importance that our transportation service has with many of your families and only want to partner with you to continue to provide the best service for your students. We would truly appreciate your support with this ongoing concern and only wish for your students to have the safest, both physically and mentally, atmosphere during their trips to and from school each day.

Explore the Arts and Express Yourself

Big picture

National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life. Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.

The 2021–2022 Reflections theme is I Will Change the World By… so if your student is interested, please click on the link for more information.

Park Hill Clothing Center Information

The Park Hill Clothing Center would like to thank all of the families who have contributed to our facility.

For anyone not familiar with the clothing center there is more information here:

If anyone needs to “shop” (the clothes are free) please sign up for a time slot here:

Volunteers are greatly needed! We have been fortunate to have received numerous donations, however we’ve had a difficult time hanging up all of the incoming clothes. There are two sign up genius links for volunteers: There is one sign up genius for the 2-4 pm timeslot every Tuesday that doesn't have shoppers present. That sign up is here and students are welcome to help out

Then there is a second sign up for the Tuesday 10-12pm and 5-7pm slots when shoppers will be there. When shoppers are present we can't have students helping due to confidentiality. That sign up is here:

We appreciate all of your help!!
