K-2 Team Newsletter
March 23, 2020
Principal's Message
We are living in an unprecedented time as we haven’t experienced anything to this magnitude before in our lifetimes. While this might be uncomfortable for us, let us think about those who are less fortunate than we, with limited food supplies, little to no wifi/tech, etc… I urge everyone to find two things you are thankful for and keep them close to your hearts. We are not sure what the path forward will look like but we are lucky to be on this journey together.

Grade Level Team Meetings
As we are preparing what teaching and learning will look like moving forward in this new era, we are trying to keep some normalcy for us as well. We will continue our weekly grade level meetings but will move them to during the day. This will be a time for us to check-in on everyone and to also plan out what the next week will look like. See below for our updated meeting times with the first meetings starting the week of March 30th!
Tuesdays 1:30-2:30 → 1st
Wednesdays 1:30-2:30 → Kinder
Thursdays 1:30-2:30 → 2nd
Deans of Academics
Please ensure your DDIs (due 3/20) are updated as if we were going back to school April 6th. We want to ensure we have plans to reteach in place so we continue to serve our scholars and their specific needs. Please contact your coach with any other questions.
Dean of SEL
In order to help us stay mentally strong during this stressful time I’ve linked some cool resources for you all. I will also be working on organizing a schedule to check in with scholars as needed to support. This will most likely start the week of March 30th as we continue to figure out what is most urgently needed for our scholars. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Habit of the Week: This is still important for us to focus on as adults as well!
- Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood: Listen with compassion as others talk. Do not spend time waiting to say something, but rather, hearing what others say.
