Hello Dolphin Students and Parents,
I am sure you have heard about this yucky virus that is affecting people all over the world. To help stop the spread of this virus, the leaders of our country, state, and school district decided to close schools for the next three weeks. Teachers have started calling families this week to share resources and to explain how they will be available to help students keep practicing skills during this time. Parents, when you see an unknown number on your phone these next three weeks, I ask you to answer it because it will probably be one of your child’s teachers who will have some important information to share.
The district will continue to put different online resources for you to practice your skills. Go to www.cfisd.net Coronavirus (Covid 19) Updates, Learning at Home section.
Don’t forget to check your teacher’s website or Google Classroom if he or she has one that you use for updates and the campus website for the newsletter The Splash.
If your family does not have a computer at home for you to do activities online, the district will provide a paper packet on Tuesday, March 31 between 10:00-1:00. Paper packets will be distributed at any of the 16 schools providing curbside meals. Cy-Ridge is the one closest to our school! Cy-Ridge and 15 other schools are providing meals to every child 18 years and younger Monday-Friday between 10:00-1:00 for any families that may need this assistance. Students need to be in the car to receive meals, but students do not need to be in the car to pick up a packet. If a friend wants to pick up a packet for another family, that is fine too.
Parents: More information to come about resources the week of April 6th, so please answer your phones. Students: I know you will make me proud by working hard and practicing your skills while we are out of school. Remember our goal: Where do we want you to go? COLLEGE!
Remember to live by our 8 Keys of Excellence:
Which includes Integrity; doing the right thing even when no one is watching and Speaking with Good Purpose; speaking nicely to others including your parents and siblings.
Remember our motto: I love myself and I love my school.
Keep loving yourself by using the district and campus resources by practicing your skills.
See you soon! Mrs. Klein, Principal Hairgrove Elementary
Online Library Info
We miss seeing your wonderful children at the library. There are so many great learning tools available for our students by accessing our library at destiny.cfisd.net . When you go to the library site, you’ll find a Symbaloo. If you click on the tiles on the Symbaloo, you’ll find many resources you can use for learning at home. One of the most helpful things you can do during this period is reading with your child at home.
