Check out the Testing Schedule Below! Make sure your students show up prepared to do their best!

How can you help your student be prepared for testing?
It is important for them to be on campus early, rested, focused and motivated. Please feel free to send snacks, drinks, fidgets, etc.
All students spend time each day on iReady. This practice helps them prepare for the testing. You can talk to your student about the importance of iReady. This testing drives their future school choices, ability to take High School Credit classes, the need to take RTI over electives, etc.
If you would like to get more involved in supporting our students, such as a coordinating a morning cheer line with other parents, please reach out to our School Community Liaison, Pat Ponce.

Tips for Spring Break

Staff Spotlights
We love to celebrate our amazing Staff that play such an important role in our school.
Mrs. Wickizer is one of our First Grade Teachers! She has been at Safford for 4 years. Her goal is to support children as they discover and explore new ideas in a safe, welcoming classroom environment. Thank you for all you do, Mrs. Wickizer!

Student Spotlight
Jorge did amazing on the Benchmark testing last week! He scored an 80% on Writing and a 100% on the Math Benchmark. Jorge is a 6th grader and it's his first year at Safford. His favorite thing about Safford is his friends. He enjoys playing soccer and running, and he is on the Safford Track team. He said his test-taking strategy is to take his time and work out the questions on paper. Great job, Jorge!
Estrella also did awesome on her Math Benchmark with a score of 84%! Estrella is an 8th grade student and this is a second year at Safford. Her favorite thing about Safford is Folklorico, and in her free time she loves to draw. Estrella said that paying attention in class and remembering the main things she has been taught is what helps her to do well on tests. Great job, Estrella, and good luck at Pueblo next year!
