TAMU-C/CMS Summer Engineering Camp
Week of 6/8-6/12
All Girls Camp - Only 20 Spots Available
Thanks to Texas A&M- Commerce and the Department of Engineering and Technology, I am able to offer a FREE one week camp that will help you explore several disciplines in the field of Engineering. Some of the areas you will explore include HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), bridge building, the construction field and others.
The FREE camp begins Monday, 6/8 and ends on Friday, 6/12 and runs from 8am until 4:30pm each day. A daily lunch is also included. In addition to studying and having hands on activities, the group will also take a tour of an area facility. Details are still being worked out, but I know they are trying to work out a tour of the Campbell Soup Plant in Paris.
All students who are chosen to participate will get to keep the technology they use during the camp. The camp directors are looking at a TI Inspire Calculator OR an HP Chromebook. Whichever piece of technology is chosen will be extremely beneficial to the rest of your middle school and high school years.
There are only 20 spots available for this FREE camp. If you are interested in participating, please submit a short 1 page essay on how you would benefit from attending this camp and how you could envision yourself working in a career in Engineering. Please submit your essay by Monday, May 18th. You may print and deliver a copy to Mr. Just or you may email a copy to patrick.just@commerceisd.org
