WILDCAT DAY INFORMATION
When is “Wildcat Day?”
Wildcat Day will be held at Westview on August 21, 2019, during the following windows of time:
8:00 am - 12:00 pm, 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
There is no assigned window for any student. Just show up when it is convenient for you.
Do we need to pay the Chromebook fee again this year?
Yes. Students will not be able to pick up a new Chromebook this year until the $20 fee is paid. (This fee may be waived for students with free/reduced lunch status.)
Can I do any of this online from home?
Can I pay for everything with just one check (if I choose to pay at Wildcat Day?)
Can I take my school ID with a silly hair style and a costume?
No. Some students, seniors in particular, want to take a silly school ID picture because they know a formal senior picture will be put in the yearbook. While this may sound like a reasonable request, we cannot allow students to do this. School ID pictures are part of our student information database, and we need to be able to identify students based on these pictures. We need pictures to accurately represent the appearance of students for safety reasons. There are no exceptions to this policy. Students may not hold props in the photos.
Can I purchase a parking pass from home or during Wildcat Day?
Juniors with a valid driver’s license may request to be part of a parking lottery after Seniors have been assigned their spots (possibly the 2nd week of school). Students will also be asked to provide vehicle make/model/license plate information for any car they may park on campus. On September 16, all seniors must begin parking in their assigned spot, and juniors will be contacted if they were selected for a parking spot through our lottery process. We believe this is the most fair method to support seniors in having the first priority and giving all juniors the same opportunity to compete for a parking space. Juniors and Seniors may continue to add their name to the lottery list over the course of the year. Anytime a parking space becomes available, a name will be chosen through a lottery. No parking passes will be available to sophomores. More information can be found at the following link: 2019-20
If I can’t come to Wildcat Day because of work or vacation plans, can I get my ID card and pay any fees at another time?
How would I know if I have overdue books that must be returned or paid for?
All students and parents can access their account through the following link: Library Information
These fees follow students each year, so please resolve this issue right away!
When do I get my class schedule for next year?
It takes all summer to build schedules for 2,400 students. Students should be able to look at StudentVue by August 20 (at the latest) to see their schedules. In special cases, a request for schedule correction form may be submitted anytime between August 21 - September 16 for the following reasons:
A class needed for graduation is not in the schedule
A class that was already taken, or a class where the prerequisite has not yet been taken, is in the schedule
There is a gap in the schedule (for example, no period 3 class)
This process is intended to correct mistakes. It is not intended to address a student changing his or her mind about a class that was previously requested. Students should only submit ONE request for correction form if a correction is necessary, and they should continue to monitor StudentVue to see if the correction request was approved or denied. If StudentVue doesn’t change, then the request was denied.
What if I want a locker?
Back-to-School Reminders
The first day for Freshmen only is Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
The first day of school for all students this year is Wednesday, September 4, 2019.
Online Enrollment Verification
Online Enrollment Verification is available online, starting August15.
BSD parents and guardians have the ability to verify their child(ren)'s enrollment information through the parent portal, ParentVUE. This annual paper process was formerly a part of the Back to School packet that was brought home to parents/guardians to review, update and return to the office. Verification of enrollments can now be completed online each year. Feel free to watch a helpful video to help you through the process.
For more information, including FAQ’s, and helpful videos, please visit the Online Registration webpage.
