STAAR Testing is taking place next week (April 9th and 10th) and NO VISITORS will be allowed on campus. This means no deliveries to students for lunches so please plan accordingly.

April Teacher of the Month: Mrs. Smith
Mrs.Smith always goes the extra mile for her students by being relationship driven and building a sense of belonging among all of her classes! She is a strong classroom teacher and is always available for tutoring for any 6th grade math student! She genuinely cares about her students! Her parent communication is fabulous. She sends out weekly emails to keep parents informed of student progress and upcoming assignments.
Mrs. Smith is always keeping student safety a top priority. She consistently monitors the halls between classes helping sixth graders manage their time.Thank you Mrs. Smith for always thoughtfully tailoring learning to student's strengths, needs and passions by creating personalized learning pathways!

6th Grade Student of the Week
Angela Ewah is an AMAZING student! She works hard to be thoroughly prepared for her future success by being adaptable and empathetic. Angela is grateful, kind, joyful and honest in the way that she interacts with her peers and teachers. Angela displays leadership in the classroom by helping out her peers and teachers and strives to always display what it means to have the H.E.A.R.T. of a Mustang.
7th Grade Student of the Week
Anastasia Gonzales has worked very hard to grow as a student and has made many gains. She enthusiastically participates in class. It is great to see her set a goal and strive to achieve it. Anastasia has the desire to grow by embracing challenges in front of her and is not scared to fail forward. Anastasia has the H.E.A.R.T. of a Mustang by being a problem solver and will reach out to others for help and support if it is needed to help her reach her goals!
8th Grade Student of the Week
Rebeka Rodriguez showcases the H.E.A.R.T. of a Mustang by being a leader amongst her peers. She collaborates and communicates skillfully in order to be prepared and encourages those around her. Rebeka works hard to embrace the challenges in front of her and exhibits perseverance.
The Hilde Pony Express
Mr. Funderburk passed the #HildePonyExpress to Mrs. Lewis! Mrs. Lewis is so good with all of our students. She has high expectations for each student, because she genuinely cares for each student! She creates challenging and creative lesson plans. She is great with technology and uses it to help students engage in learning. Mrs. Lewis not only helps our students learn ELA, but she also uses English to help the students broaden their knowledge about the world and other cultures. She is always challenging students to grow as people and helps them learn Life Lessons. It is a privilege to have her on our campus!

On STAAR testing dates and make-up dates we will be a CLOSED campus. Reminders about cell phones and other electronic devices:
A student possessing a cell phone or any communication device that has text messaging, email, video or internet capabilities while taking STAAR or any other state assessment, must turn off the device before receiving any test materials.
The student’s test may not be scored if the student had possession of a test booklet or
answer document while the device was visible to the teacher. The teacher observing the
student in the possession of the device must confiscate the device and report the offense to the campus testing coordinator.

Chromebooks should be kept in the APPROVED cases (backpacks are not approved cases)

Dress code reminders
- Shorts and skirts must be mid-thigh in length
- No excessively baggy pants
- No bare midriffs
- No tank tops, low cut, or see through blouses
- No off the shoulder tops permitted
- Undergarments can not be exposed
- No T-shirts with inappropriate messages
- No Excessively tight dresses
- No spandex shorts
- No head wraps or head coverings unless worn for religious or medical purposes
- Rips in jeans can't be above mid-thigh
