Holiday Shop: December 6th-10th
Each student at MCE was able to shop for Christmas gifts to give family members and friends. As usual, this event was so popular, we had to shop for more items mid-week! Thank you to all of our volunteers for making the Holiday Shop such a success! Our students and staff greatly appreciate your generosity and time! MCE Student Council made $4,000 with this fundraiser. A portion of this money has already been used to purchase items for next year's Holiday Shop.
Cocoa & Caroling: December 15th
Cocoa and Caroling was planned by the MCE Parent Involvement Committee. Students sang Christmas Carols under the direction of Mrs. Bailey Mabry. Families were able to take pictures with Santa, pick up new stocking caps and gloves (provided by LOL) and complete a holiday art project (provided by the Montgomery City Fine Arts Council). Cocoa and cookies were served in the cafeteria. The event was well attended and much enjoyed by all.
Congratulations to Mrs. Ferguson!
Wildcat Award Recipient
Mrs. Ferguson's nomination read:
"Mrs. Ferguson is our daughter's second grade teacher. We have been so impressed with Mrs. Ferguson from literally day one. On the first day of school I received a phone call from the school and was admittedly a little nervous about what could have happened the first day that warranted a phone call, only to realize that it was Mrs. Ferguson calling to give me a positive report on how our daughter did the first day. Mrs. Ferguson has continued to be a great communicator and helps us feel as if we are truly partners in our child's education. Our daughter looks forward to going to school each day and has already grown a great deal academically and socially under Mrs. Ferguson's guidance. We are grateful for Mrs. Ferguson and all she does for our kiddo!"
Gifts from New Florence Wood Products and the Tacker Family
Because of their generous donation, each student at MCE received a gift. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
