Bucket Filling - Positive Shout Outs for Faculty and Staff
What is bucket filling? The main idea of Bucket Filling is that we all carry an invisible bucket in which we keep our feelings about ourselves. When our buckets are full, we experience positive emotions like joy; when they are empty, we experience negative emotions like sadness. We can fill our own bucket and so can others. We need to be careful not to "dip" in others' buckets if we aren't feeling our best. Children are taught a simple metaphor of a bucket to help them understand the importance of kindness and consideration for others. This concept applies to every aspect of life and to people of all ages.
So, how can you support this initiative?!
We need your help in filling the buckets of our faculty and staff. I simply need you to contact me (email or phone) and share any impactful, positive encounters you have with NFE faculty or staff. I will find creative ways to share this feedback with them. Believe me, these simple acknowledgements and words of affirmation are powerful even for our adult dolphins. Thanks in advance for supporting our initiative in promoting prosocial behaviors that encourage wellness and connectedness in our school community. You are appreciated!

The Voyage Character Education Program
We are embarking on an adventure called “The Voyage” at North Fayette Elementary. We are so excited about the school-wide character education journey that we are on together! We would love if you could partner with us at home, too. We are stronger when we work together!
This month on The Voyage we are focusing on the character trait of COOPERATION.
Our main anchor this month is "Cooperation is working well with others."
Our action point for week one is: Cooperation starts by listening to others.
Our action point for week two is: Cooperation is all about teamwork.
Our action point for week three is: Cooperation helps you toward a common goal.
Our action point for week four is: Cooperation means sometimes you compromise.
